Efrem Ivanovich Zverkov was born in 1921 in the village of Nesterovo in the Kalinin region. He is a very important Russia painter, bearing the titles Academician and People’s Artist of Russia.

Zverkov is well-known in Russia as a master of national lyrical landscapes. He still lives in Moscow, but throughout the years much of his inspiration has been from the Russian countryside.
