Tumakov, Ivan Sergeevich

Ivan Sergeevich Tumakov was born September 6, 1918, in the village Stepanovo in the Ryazan region of Russia. He studied at the Ryazan Art and Music Teacher’s Training School (the Ryazan Art School) from 1934 until 1938. He began participating in regional art exhibitions in 1937.

Important exhibitions include:

  • Personal exhibition: Spassk (Ryazan region), 1950.
  • Personal exhibitions: Kasimov (Ryazan region), 1970, 1977, 1982, 1985, 1987.

He became a member of the Artists’ Union of the USSR in 1968. His artworks can be found in the Ryazan Regional Art Museum as well as other galleries in Russia and abroad.

Tumakov lived and worked in the city of Kasimov in the Ryazan region until his death in the early 1990s.

His works have been published in various books and journals, including:
