Igor Ivanovich Simonov was born in 1927. He studied first at the Sverdlovsk Art College, then at the Repin Institute of Art until 1954.
Important shows include:
- ‘All-Union Art Exhibition’; Moscow, 1955.
- ‘Soviet Russia’; Moscow, 1960.
He specialized in paintings of steel workers from the late 1950s to the early 1960s.
Well-known works include:
- “Foundry Workers”, 1958-1959; Sverdlovsk Picture Gallery
- “In a Works Laboratory”, 1960.
He lives and works in Sverdlovsk.
