Viktor Vasilievich Shemyakin was born in the village Gazzovod in the Chita region of Russia in 1944. He graduated from the Irkutsk Art School in 1966. He became a member of the Artists’ Union of the USSR since 1975. He holds the prestigeous title “Honored Artist of Russia”. He participates in regional, zonal, republican, Moscow and international exhibitions. He is a Remizov G.D. Price laureate. Shemyakin lives and works in the city of Tambov.
