Shavrin, Vladimir Vasilievich

Vladimir Vasilevich Shavrin was born in the village of Zadnee of the Vologda Region on November 4, 1928. He finished the village school with excellent marks and went on to attend the Art School in Penza. After graduation he entered the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). He graduated in 1955, again with excellent marks.

He became a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia in 1964.

In 1995 he moved to Voronezh to live and work. From that year on he participated in all Regional and Republic exhibitions as well as exhibitions in Moscow, Leningrad, Penza, Voronezh, and other cities until his death in 1985.

His paintings are in many museums in the former USSR and in many art galleries abroad. Some of his paintings were bought by the Ministry of Culture in Russia.
