Tatyana Tikhonovna Poplavskaya was born in 1955 in the Voronezh Region of Russia. She studied at the Kursk School of Graphic Art in 1977 under professors V. I. Erofeev, I. P. Shcherbakov, and N. V. Umrikhina. From 1977 to 1981 she studied at the Graphic Art and Pedagogical School in Buturlinovskom. She began exhibiting her works in 1978. She is equally versed in portraiture, still life, and landscape painting. She lives and works in Voronezh.
