Igor Vasilevich Panich was born April 20, 1919 in Ivanivka, Poltava province, Ukraine. He fought in World War II, after which he studied at the Kharkov Art Institute until 1950. He lived and worked in Voroshilovgrad/Lugansk, Ukraine, specializing in thematic paintings. He was a member of the Artists’ Union of the Ukraine. He participated in numerous exhibitions of Eastern-Ukrainian Painters, All-Ukrainian, and All-Union art exhibitions. Important shows include ‘All-Union Art Exhibition’, Moscow, 1951. Panich became an Honorable Artist of the Ukraine in 1972. His works can be found in many private collections around the world.
