Nebolsin, Anatoli Alekseevich

Photo

Anatoli Alekseevich Nebolsin was born in 1934 in the village of Gorenskiye Vyselki in the Voronezh Region. He graduated from the Tashkent School of Art in 1959. In 1965, he received his master’s degree in painting at the Tashkent Art Institute in Uzbekistan. Except for his years of education, he lived in Voronezh for most of his life.

Nebolsin painted landscape and figurative compositions featuring traditional Russian culture. His specialty was seascapes, and he traveled to the coast for two to three months each year where he did many studies which serve as references for other works to be painted back at the studio.

Nebolsin became a member of the Artists’ Union of the USSR in 1989. He taught for a time at the Voronezh College of Art, but later concentrated solely on painting and exhibiting his works. He regularly participated in local, regional, republican and international exhibitions.

Tragically, in July of 2006 Nebolsin died after being involved in a traffic accident.

His works can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts in Bryansk, picture galleries in Bulgaria, Denmark and Germany, as well as in private Russian and international collections.

His works have been published in various books and journals, including:

  • “Artists from Voronezh.” Voronezh, 2002.
  • “Russian Realist Art.” Russian Art, St. Petersburg, 1997.
  • “Tradition Rediscovered”. CommonPlace Publishing, New Canaan, CT.
  • “The Voronezh Artists’ Union.” A. V. Vashchenko, Voronezh, 2004.
  • “The Voronezh Artists’ Union.” Voronezh, 2006.
