Ivan Grigorevich Mishin was born in 1928 in the town of Elets. He studied at Elets Art College until 1956 and later became a teacher there.
He began exhibiting his works in 1957 and took part in zonal, republic and All-Union shows.
He lived and worked in Elets, in the Lipetsk Region throughout his career and was a member of the Artists’ Union. His works can be found in private collections, galleries and museums in Russia and abroad.
Mishin died in February of 2001.
