Kremer, Alexander

Photo

Alexander Kremer was born in St. Petersburg in 1958. He developed a strong love of Russian landscape from his father and grandfather, both artists.

Kremer is a graduate of the Mukhina Art Institute in St. Petersburg.

He is most widely known for his snow paintings, and all of his works are done with a wonderful sense of light. He prefers the warm light and long, blue shadows of early sunset.

A fast and prolific painter, Kremer has a large following in Russia and in Germany. He exhibits regularly in Russia and in Europe. He lives with his family in St. Petersburg, spending his summers at his dacha in the country.

His works have been published in various books and journals, including:

  • “Tradition Rediscovered.” CommonPlace Publishing, New Canaan, CT.
