Vasili Ivanovich Bratanuk was born in the Ukraine on January 6, 1964. From 1976 to 1980 he studied at the Children’s Artists School in the town of Starokocmanminov, Ukraine. From 1980 to 1984 he studied under the guidance of the famous artist K. M. Lomykin in Odessa and the well-known artistn T. N. Yablonskaya in Kiev. He graduated in 1984 from the Odessa Art School with a degree in painting. From 1990 to 1997 he studied at the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under the guidance of Academicians and Profesors U. Neprintsev and O. Eremeev. He is a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia. He has participated in St. Petersburg, All-Union and international exhibitions.
A master of oil and brush, Bratanuk is constantly trying new genres and searching for new ways to express his unique view of the world. Bratanuke’s chief skills may be landscape and composition, but he is also adept at classic portraiture and is very interested in the world of ballet. Ballet, he says, is a source of moral beauty and spiritual thinking. In ballet, the organic stylistics of the muse are personified by colorful harmony.
Bratanuk’s works have been exhibited in the Ukraine as well as in many exhibitions in Russia and abroad. His works can be found in galleries and private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Britain, Holland, Finland, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the United States, Canada, Greece, Israel, Egypt, China, Japan and Korea.
